Observed on the Krishna Saptami of the Agrahayana month. It is the birth anniversary of Sri Sarada Devi, the spiritual consort of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and the Holy Mother of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission. She is revered as the embodiment of purity, compassion, and selfless universal motherhood.
Floral tributes, sandalwood paste, and garlands are offered to the portrait of the Holy Mother. Ramakrishna Mission centres conduct special pujas, Homa, scripture readings, and devotional songs throughout the day. Distributing prasad to devotees is a central tradition.
Devotees fast in the morning until they offer Pushpanjali. The fast is concluded by having the consecrated prasad in the afternoon.
