Significance

Observed on the Krishna Ekadashi of the Kartik month. 'Rama' is another name for Goddess Lakshmi. Falling just days before Diwali, observing this fast brings the dual blessings of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.

Rituals & Customs

Lord Vishnu is worshipped alongside Goddess Lakshmi. The deities are offered incense, lamps, flowers, sandalwood paste, and Tulsi leaves. Reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama and Sri Suktam is highly beneficial.

Fasting Rules

Standard Ekadashi fasting rules apply strictly. Abstinence from all grains, cereals, and rice is required. The fast begins the previous night and is broken (Paran) on Dwadashi morning.

Throughout the Ekadashi tithi, with a specific window for Paran on Dwadashi morning.
