Significance

Celebrated on the Shukla Navami of the Chaitra month. It marks the birth of Lord Ram, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. It often coincides with the Maha Navami of Vasanti Durga Puja.

Rituals & Customs

Devotees worship Lord Ram along with Goddess Sita, Lakshman, and Lord Hanuman. Reciting or listening to the Ramayana is highly auspicious. The deity is bathed, dressed in new clothes, and offered flowers, sweets, and Tulsi leaves.

Fasting Rules

Devotees observe a fast from the morning until midday, the traditional time of Lord Ram's birth. The fast is broken with fruits and Sattvic prasad after the midday puja.
