Significance

Falling in the bright half of the Jyeshtha month, this is considered the strictest and most rewarding of all Ekadashis. Also known as Bhima Ekadashi, it is believed that observing this single fast yields the spiritual merit of observing all 24 Ekadashis in the Hindu calendar year.

Rituals & Customs

Worship is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Offerings include Tulsi leaves, yellow flowers, and sandalwood paste. Devotees continuously chant the 'Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya' mantra and recite the Vishnu Sahasranama.

Fasting Rules

A complete waterless fast. Devotees abstain from food and even a single drop of water. The fast begins on the evening of Dashami and concludes on the morning of Dwadashi after sunrise.

Auspicious Timing

From sunrise on Ekadashi tithi until the specific Paran window on Dwadashi morning.
