Observed on the Shukla Chaturthi of the Magh month. Alongside the widely known Bhadrapada Ganesh Chaturthi, this day is also celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha. It is also known as Til Kund Chaturthi. Worshipping him brings wisdom and removes obstacles.
Lord Ganesha is worshipped with offerings of red flowers, Durva grass, sandalwood paste, and vermilion. Offering sweets made of sesame seeds (Til Laddoos) and Modaks is a mandatory tradition on this specific day.
Devotees observe a fast during the day. The fast is broken after the afternoon or evening Ganesha puja by consuming prasad, specifically the sesame sweets.
