Celebrated on the full moon of the Shravana month. It is the enchanting monsoon swing festival celebrating the divine romance of Radha and Krishna in the groves of Vrindavan.
A beautifully decorated swing is adorned with flowers and creepers, and the idols of Radha and Krishna are placed upon it. Devotees take turns gently pulling the swing while singing Kirtans. Sweet offerings like Malpua are mandatory.
There is no strict fast for the general public, though it is a tradition to eat a pure vegetarian diet. The main priests in temples fast until the evening rituals are completed.
