Celebrated on the Shukla Chaturthi of the Bhadrapada month. Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the supreme remover of obstacles and the deity of wisdom and auspicious beginnings.
A clay idol of Lord Ganesha is installed. It is auspicious to offer 21 blades of Durva grass and red hibiscus flowers. The offerings must include his favourites — Modak, Laddoos, bananas, and coconuts. Tulsi leaves are strictly prohibited in Ganesha worship.
