Significance

The final day of Durga Puja, marking Goddess Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura and her emotional return journey to Mount Kailash. Nationally, it is celebrated as Dussehra, marking Lord Rama's victory over Ravana.

Rituals & Customs

Married women perform Devi Boron, offering betel leaves, sweets, and vermilion to the Goddess, followed by the vibrant Sindoor Khela. The idols are then immersed in water bodies. In the evening, younger ones touch the feet of elders to seek blessings.

Fasting Rules

There is no fasting on Dashami. It is a day of feasting, sharing sweets, and celebrating victory after the immersion of the idol.
