Observed on the Shukla Navami of the Bhadrapada month. It is the birth anniversary of the spiritual leader and founder of the Satsang movement, Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra. His teachings emphasise scientific living, character building, and universal brotherhood, transcending religious dogma.
The day begins at dawn with Usha Kirtan and congregational prayers. Flowers and garlands are offered to his portrait. The day is filled with Satsang, devotional songs, and initiation ceremonies. A community feast known as Anandabazar is organised for all attendees regardless of caste or creed.
Devotees typically maintain a fast or a strict Sattvic diet in the morning, breaking it by partaking in the Anandabazar prasad in the afternoon.
Throughout the Shukla Navami tithi.
