Significance

Observed on the Phalguna Ekadashi. According to mythology, the Amla tree originated from Lord Vishnu's mouth at the beginning of creation. The tree is considered the sacred abode of Lord Vishnu, and worshipping it on this day grants liberation.

Rituals & Customs

Devotees worship the Amla tree by offering water, flowers, sandalwood paste, and incense at its roots. If a tree is unavailable, offering fresh Amla fruits to Lord Vishnu during the puja is mandatory.

Fasting Rules

Standard Ekadashi fasting rules apply strictly. Abstinence from all grains, cereals, and rice is required. The fast begins the previous night and is broken (Paran) on Dwadashi morning.
